How to make orange mint tea

First, you're going to need 1 1/2 cups of Florida Orange Juice.

I love the taste of Florida Orange Juice! It tastes great and it’s naturally sweet, which means it contains no added sugar.

Add 4 cups of water to a tea kettle and bring it to 176 degrees F. (You can also boil the water. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Once it boils, remove from heat and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.) Once it’s done, pour the water into a heat proof glass measuring cup.

Add 4 green tea bags to the measuring cup and steep for 2 to 3 minutes.

(This post is from 2012, I just updated it with a new video, check it out!)

Last month I was in Boston for my sister Connie's graduation from Northeastern Law. I'm so incredibly proud of my sister. She has worked so hard and has overcome so much and she's such an amazing person, sister and student.

She's the first attorney in the family!! We're so proud of her and I hope she knows it, for real (I do tell her all the time).

I know she's going to do great things with her law degree. She cares about others and wants to do a lot of good. It was hard for me not to get emotional during her graduation ceremony, she's my baby sister. Go Connie!

That's me and her pictured below.

Don't ask me why I'm holding her stomach.

(this is wonderful and easy to make!) Nutella Milkshakes from thelittlekitchen.net

I always love visiting Boston, it's always a fun time with my sister and we always have good food. One of the places we stopped at was Boloco and I ordered a nutella milkshake.

It was so good and made with skim milk and low fat frozen yogurt, I knew I wanted to come up with a recipe for a nutella milkshake. And I felt a little less guilty about umm drinking both milkshakes.

I also have a new video to show you how to make these amazing nutella milkshakes!! It's just three ingredients!

Nutella Milkshakes from thelittlekitchen.net

It's so easy, I don't know why I don't make milkshakes more often.

We love Silk Vanilla Almond Creamer and Silk Sweet & Creamy Almond Creamer! I like to start my day with a hot cup of Earl Grey tea (sometimes green tea, sometimes English Breakfast).

Almond Milk Tea thelittlekitchen.net

Pour in some Silk Vanilla Almond Creamer…

Almond Milk Tea thelittlekitchen.net

And that's all I need. Just mix and drink. It's a great way to start my morning.

Almond Milk Tea thelittlekitchen.net

Before I make my cup of tea though, my other morning routines are to get ready, take the dogs out, feed them and also do the dishes.

It's funny, I used to dread dread doing the dishes. A friend once told me that in order to build a habit, you need to start it out doing it slowly and build on it. I don't remember exactly how I started the habit of doing the dishes every morning. But it feels good to get something accomplished right off the bat. While I'm doing the dishes, I start the tea kettle so I can make my cup of tea as soon as the dishes are loaded into the dishwasher.

Almond Milk Tea thelittlekitchen.net

During the weekend, we really try to do a weekly meal plan. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. But when it does, it helps us immensely. Even if I only plan out 2 to 3 meals for the week, it's progress! It's 2 to 3 nights where we don't have to ask each other, what's for dinner?

Almond Milk Tea thelittlekitchen.net

The other morning routine that I try to do at least a few times a week is to write down what I'm grateful for. It's so important to take stock of the things you're thankful for. And celebrate often. I do want to do this every day and it's a habit that I'm trying to form. But until then progress is perfection!

Flowers

This is a just a reminder to stop and smell the flowers. One of my favorite things that I started doing a few years ago is to buy some flowers for my desk every few weeks. It brightens up my office and encourages me to clear the clutter from my desk so there's room to enjoy flowers!

Angel Dog with sneakers

Some mornings, I try to walk at least 10 to 15 minutes. And when I do, I feel so much better. One of the best things a friend said to me was that she never regrets working out. When you get out there and move, it's a good thing and it's progress! (PS That's Angel, isn't her big smile SO cute?)

Angel and Charley dogs

I wanted to close with spend time with the ones you love. Hold them close, say I love you, give kisses and give lots of hugs.

Angel and Charley dogs

These guys remind me all the time what happiness means and what love means and that progress is always perfection. Because no matter what, they love me unconditionally!

It's smack dab in the middle of July and I can't believe it. How are we half way through 2017? Am I the only one who says this every year? That it goes by faster and faster!

My favorite drink to sip on with friends is a gin and tonic. I have shared with you a cucumber gin and tonic…now it's time to share another easy peasy drink, the strawberry gin and tonic!

strawberry gin and tonic thelittlekitchen.net

But first, I must share about my trip to New York City and the Hamptons last month!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

I was invited on a little retreat with friends and we stayed at the Lotte New York Palace. It was beyond amazing! My roommate for the weekend was Heidi, I had so much fun with her!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

On a brick of white chocolate, a photo of inside the hotel entrance. Beautiful, right?

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

The view from our room was amazing! I have to go back…like now!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

The food at the Villard was amazing. They are known for their breakfast. We had banana bacon beignets and thick cut bacon and this beautifully presented avocado toast. It's gorgeous, right?

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

Dinner the night before was at Fig & Olive in the Meatpacking District. The food was amazing. From mushroom croquettes to this beef carpaccio…my stomach was very happy!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

Lunch the next day was at Mamo. Seriously, if you're in the area. Get there. This Italian place is tucked in SoHo and it's glorious! I had the tiniest raviolis I have ever had. Truffle pizza and these little stuffed red peppers. So so good!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

We made our way to the Hamptons and stayed in a beautiful house! Gina, Lexi and Liz outdid themselves.

We enjoyed the pool and Halo Top Creamery ice cream!! Yes!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

Breakfast the next day, was avocado toast that was next level! The spread included wonderful food from Delallo, Vital Farms and Green Giant!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

And then, we had lunch at Union Cantina. This little amazing Mexican place in Southhampton. So so good, from tacos and margaritas to this churro French toast…pretty genius, right?

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

Watermelon margaritas by the pool…be sure to check out Heather's spicy watermelon sangria!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

And this ahi tuna & watermelon salad using Delallo's vegetable marinade. Yum! Gina shared her version recently too!

Hamptons Trip thelittlekitchen.net

Let's just say, we didn't go hungry! This spread from Sabra…yay!

And thisssssss…meat and cheese board, when I grow up, I want to build a board like this. 😀

This spread was possible due to Delallo. And they are so nice to offer a 25% discount site wide to The Little Kitchen readers! If you place an order use the code LittleKitchen25 at checkout to get the discount!
